Jordyn, is perhaps one of the truest, most loving people I have ever met, and yet… he’s just 14. He has such care and consideration for the world and the people in it – such passion and connection , and as I’ve recently discovered – a wicked sense of humour! After 14 years as a boy with Autism and an often uncontrollable body, Jordyn (with the help of his absolute rock star advocates – aka his lovely parents!), has recently found his outward voice, and means of full self-expression via a letter board, and is finally able to share the incredible things he has to offer our world …and he’s doing just that! On one of his recent blog posts, after a run in with a rather inconsiderate and very likely ignorant person, I read a sentence that has stuck with me since I first read it:
“I trust that soon there will be a shift in how we, with motor cortex and sensory differences, are viewed. 100% intelligent and compassionate joy-filled humans here to wake up the numb and entitled to a world of inclusion and 100% acceptance of all human differences.”
He’s 14! 14! The wisdom and compassion is this young man is beyond comparison. I’m very proud to call him my friend (for as long as he’ll have me). For a weekly dose of Jordyn’s wisdom, head on over to Jordyn’s Rocky Journey.
Jordyn, your company is always my absolute pleasure – thank you for letting me take your photo.
